Happy Birthday Zooey!

Future Phonograph would like to wish our favorite indie songstress (She & Him) and actress (Yes Man, (500) Days of Summer), Zooey Deschanel a very special Happy Birthday! She won our hearts as well as millions of others with her charming quirkiness and dreamy vocals. In honor of her birthday, we are featuring a special video performance of She & Him of their rendition of "Fools Rush In" in part of the Levi's Pioneer Sessions. Zooey, we wish you nothing but the best on your special day!

Imagine

The first time I saw the name John Lennon was on my dad's arm when I was 5 years old. It was a tattoo that he got back when he was young. He told me that his impact on music was tremendous and it was felt all over the world. That impact and influence is still felt even today.

Today would have marked 70th birithday of the legendary John Lennon. He was a Beatle, peace activist, musician/songwriter, but most of all, a loving husband and father. Future Phonograph wants to simply say Happy Birthday, John Lennon and thank you for the many wonderful and beautiful songs you have graced our ears with.

"Music is everybody's possession. It's only publishers who think that people own it." - John Lennon

Happy Birthday Omar!

Today is Omar Rodriguez-Lopez's birthday. I admire him (along with Cedric Bixler-Zavala) not only for his talent, but for his creativity and innovation. He has shown me that music is the celebration of the soul and that its possibilities are truly endless.

To my hero, I just want to wish you Happy Birthday and I hope that you continue to make music for many years to come.

P.S. By the way, is there a way you can have showcase for your film The Sentimental Engine Slayer over here in Hawaii?
