Moshtradamus

Since we are on the subject of Circa Survive, I have always wanted to write a piece on Anthony Green since he is one of my favorite vocalists. Anthony Green hails from Doylestown, Pennsylvania and was active in many bands including Audience of One and Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer. Before Circa Survive, he was well known by being part of the post-hardcore act Saosin from Los Angeles, California and released their highly influential EP Translating the Name. After a year of being with the band and unpleased with the direction of the band's music, Anthony Green left the band and returned to his home in Doylestown. He later met up with his good friend, Colin Frangicetto, who was a member of the now defunct band This Day Forward. They started jamming and formed what is now Circa Survive. Since their formation, the band has released three albums, Juturna, On Letting Go and their current album (which is released in stores today) Blue Sky Noise. While being the frontman of Circa Survive, he is also a member of The Sound of Animals Fighting, a highly experimental act consisting of members from Rx Bandits, Finch, Chiodos, Days Away and The Autumns. He has also released a solo record entitled Avalon and was recorded in Avalon, New Jersey. The record was more stripped down with a more indie folk appeal and focuses more on Green's talents on the acoustic guitar. Currently, Anthony Green and Circa Survive will be touring in promotion of their latest record and word has it, he is currently working on a follow-up to Avalon. For more information on this dynamic vocalist/songwriter/musician, go to his myspace or facebook and for more information on Circa Survive, go to their official site.
