The Fiddler

There is something magical about Marques Toliver. The moment you hear the chimes of his violin, you don't just hear the music. You can feel it. It is the kind of music that swoon the hearts of angels.

With the kind of talent Marques Toliver possesses, he was bound to be discovered. While he was living in New York playing on street corners and subway stations, he was founded by TV On The Radio Kyp Malone. This led to him being recording with indie rock band, Grizzly Bear. But while he took a trip to London, he was discovered (again) by Adele. It's amazing the kind of impression he made between the US and the UK.

His first EP Butterflies Are Not Free is the perfect combination of classical violin and rhythm and blues. Marques Toliver's vocals soar gracefully on top of beautifully written lyrics. After to listening the four-track EP, it makes me wonder what else is in store for the talented musician. In the meantime (while we await for new material), I presented to you video footage of Toliver's amazing performance on the London late show Later...With Jools Holland.
